Invisalign is an orthodontic option for those who need their teeth straightened. Instead of straightening your teeth with jabbing wires and rigid brackets, you can get a straight smile with comfortable, clear aligners. With the Invisalign® aligners on, nobody will notice that you are getting orthodontic work done at all!
Invisalign Benefits
Invisalign aligners make great braces for adults because they don’t look like braces. You can continue going to work without worrying about drawing stares. Straighten your teeth more discretely and less painfully with these clear, plastic trays.
Each tray is custom-made for your teeth using a treatment plan made especially for you! The aligners are also removable, which makes eating and brushing your teeth easier than with traditional braces.
The Invisalign Process
- Consultation: You will first meet with Dr. Jenny Lee to determine whether aligners are the best option for your dental needs. This visit will include an exam and a discussion about your smile needs.
- Impressions: Digital impressions will be taken with Invisalign technology. These impressions will be processed on a computer program where Dr. Lee will design your smile results.
- Aligner Fabrication: Once your treatment plan is ready, the digital files will be sent to the lab where your customized aligner kit will be made. The lab will ship the kit back to our office where we’ll give the kit to you with instructions on how to use the aligners.
- Wearing the Aligners: Once you have your aligners, you’ll wear each pair of trays for 2–3 weeks before transitioning to the next pair in the sequence. This way, your teeth will move gradually over time without the need for tightening or elastics.
- Regular Checkups: Dr. Lee likes to personally oversee Invisalign treatments, so we’ll ask you to visit us every 6 weeks or so, just to make sure that treatment is progressing as expected.
- Post-Treatment: Once your Invisalign treatment is over and you’ve won your beautiful new smile, you can maintain it by wearing a simple retainer that will keep your teeth in place. Don’t let your Invisalign treatment go to waste!

How To Have a Successful Invisalign Treatment That Lasts
Wear Your Aligners Often
The more you wear your Invisalign trays, the faster you’ll get your dream smile. Invisalign should be worn at least 22 hours a day for the best results. The only times you should take the aligners out are during meals, while brushing your teeth, or while playing wind instruments or contact sports.
Keep Your Teeth Clean
After eating, brush your teeth and your aligner trays to keep bacteria from collecting on your teeth. You should also brush and floss your teeth before bed. Keeping this routine will protect your mouth from infections like gum disease.
Switch Between Aligners
We’ll provide you with a schedule for when you should switch between aligners. Sticking to this schedule will help your treatment go faster. Do not try to switch sooner than the recommended interval as this could damage your teeth.
Wear Your Retainer
Once treatment is over, you should wear a retainer to keep your smile in shape. If you don’t, your teeth may revert to their original positions. Wearing a retainer is essential for a lasting straight smile.
